IR TV remote is one of major remotes on current market. Many users like IR remote because of its low price and practical operation way. Of course, every corn has two sides. IR remote is no exception. IR remote has 2 weak points. For one thing, its transmit angle is distance are all limited, more, it will be out of control if there was an obstacle between the remote and TV set. Firstly, let’s check the battery power. The remote will refuse to work at the occasion of low power or no power. If it is power shortage, just the old battery with new ones.

Secondly, we should check the connection between infrared emitter and TV set. Connection will be failed given the actual distance between remote and TV set is over its working distance range. There is another case, the remote also can’t work if there is an obstacle in front of the remote. We need to make the remote and TV set  close or remove the obstacle.

Thirdly, remote is easy to be damaged by moisture. Once too much moisture gathered in the remote, it will lead to failure. The countermeasure is to dry the remote ASAP. Remove the battery and dry the remote with hair drier. Then, the IR remote can work again.
